While we are working on our own formula for Firestarter Cosmetics, Amanda and I decided we needed a mascara to get us through until ours is perfected. I apologize for the not so great pictures, as I used my cellphone camera.

After some consideration, I picked up a Physicians Formula Organic Wear Mascara in Ultra Black Organics.

First off, I adore the packaging!

While applying it, the only negative thing I can say is that it feels more dry than any other mascara I’ve tried, but it is not flaky. This particular one is also not waterproof.

For $19.99 it’s worth the price if you’re searching for an organic alternative and an avid mascara wearer. It’s light, and non clumping! Within their Organic line, they also make one that mimics wearing false eyelashes and one for jumbo lash boosting.

UPDATE: We went and tried the other mascaras from the organic line… the FakeOut (false lash) one shows a subtle difference - it made Amanda’s eyes look like she had put liner on when she hadn’t - also added more depth. We didn’t find any major differences with the jumbo lash and this original one. Our pros and cons stayed the same for the most part - we found the jumbo lash and the false lash brushes more difficult to use. Overall our preference is still this regular one.

We’ll try and update with some more pictures soon! We still have yet to try the lash boosting one.
